Basic Yoga

For those new to yoga, those who’ve taken a break from their practice, or those wishing to deepen the foundation of their current knowledge base. This class provides a strong start for your practice through detailed asana (pose) alignment, as well as an introduction to a variety of asanas–exploring balance, forward folds, backbends, twists and mild inversions. This class will also offer an introduction to pranayama (the breath), and the philosophy of yoga. Modifications and props will be offered as well as challenges so that each student may experience and embrace their personal edge.

Basics and Beyond

In this class the student will utilize their basic knowledge of yoga postures and alignment. We’ll continue to move and breathe through forward bends, backbends, twists and inversions. We’ll also learn different pranayama (breath) techniques and incorporate Sun and Moon Salutations. As always, each class will end with a deeply restorative pose for rejuvenation and nourishment. Other benefits include a continuing journey into the philosophy of yoga and it’s physical, mental and emotional benefits.

Flow Yoga

Warm your body and invigorate your senses during this energetic class. We’ll begin with deep-tissue opening poses and flow through sun salutations and other standing, balancing poses linking them with the rhythm of the breath. Class ends with a restful calming restorative pose. No prior experience is necessary, however beginning students will be challenged by the faster pace. Benefits of the class include cardio training and an energized body, mind and spirit.

Gentle Yoga

This class is structured around rejuvenating and healing the body while increasing balance and flexibillity. Yoga props such as blankets, blocks, bolsters, chairs and straps are often used for safe practice, and to allow the body to fully achieve each position comfortably. This class is held at a slower pace and focuses on stretching all areas of the body while releasing stress and tension from joints and muscles. NIA

Nia is a cardio blend of dance, yoga and martial arts set to rhythmic music. It’s a safe and energizing form of fitness for anyone that wants to increase strength, balance, range of motion and have fun while being fit. Nia has been practiced in the US and around the world for over 25 years. Kids Yoga

This playful class for children ages 6-9 years old will focus on learning yoga postures that develop flexibility, strength, coordination, confidence and fun! Each class includes warm-ups, a series of postures or stretches, a story and a game, and relaxation time. This class is perfect for those that are not involved in organized sports as Yoga is non-competitive, and it’s also highly beneficial for those that do sports because it will help them improve focus, relax and stretch out.
